Types of Bees
Bumble Bees usually create their nests underground and very rarely present any problems. Bumble bees do not have stingers but they could bite if disturbed. Sometimes bumble bees will set up their nest somewhere close to a home or business in which case they may present a problem.
Carpenter Bees are some of the larger bees and can usually be seen flying around on their own rather than in a large colony. These bees do not have stingers but will sometimes fly around aggressively in order to try and intimidate any potential threats. These bees can cause damage to houses and wooden structures as they bore into wood to lay eggs and leave large oval holes.
Honey Bees are the most common bee that you may encounter in your daily life. Honey bees are yellow, black and have smaller bodies which are often confused with hornets and wasps. They are not usually aggressive. Honey bees do have stingers and will sting you if they feel that you are a potential threat.
